Acrylic Nail Enhancements Aftercare

Your nail extensions have been professionally applied with high quality products. To look after your nail extensions, follow these simple guidelines:

  • Wear protective gloves when gardening or doing housework.

  • Dry hands thoroughly after washing.

  • Use OPI cuticle oil every day.

  • Use an acetone-free nail polish remover.

  • Do not use creams containing lanolin, as this causes lifting. All OPI products are lanolin-free.

  • Do not pick around the cuticles, as this causes lifting.

  • Return to your nail technician for regular maintenance (every 2 weeks is advised).

  • If lifting occurs, do not pick the acrylic. Instead, buff the acrylic down and apply cuticle oil, then return to your nail technician for professional maintenance and repair.

  • If you find that your acrylics have little cracks on the sides, this generally indicates that your nails are far too long for you and that your nail bed is under pressure.

  • Acrylic nails are designed to break under pressure. This is to protect your natural nail underneath as it’s better to damage the acrylic rather than injure your natural nail or nail bed.

  • If you have any questions or problems regarding your nail enhancements, always contact your nail technician, as she knows you and your nails.

  • Finally, do not use your nail extensions as tools, treat them like jewels!

Brow/Lash Tinting Aftercare

  • Avoid applying eye make up for 24 hours (to prevent the tint from fading).

  • Avoid applying mascara for 24 hours (to prevent the tint from fading).

  • Avoid rubbing and washing the area for the first 4 hours.

  • Please take extra care of the treated area.

Brow Waxing/Threading Aftercare

  • Avoid perfumed face lotion or creams for 24 hours.

  • Avoid applying make up for 24 hours.

  • Avoid sunbathing and sun bed treatments for 24 hours.

  • Please take extra care of the treated area, especially within the first 24 hours, as a large number of hairs have been removed. The area could be prone to infection if not cared for properly.

OPI GelColor Aftercare

OPI GelColor is a super-glossy, polish-on gel formula that has been professionally applied to the highest standard and is designed to last approximately 2-3 weeks with the correct aftercare.  The following advice will help to ensure your GelColor lasts as long as possible, making it an excellent value for money treatment.

  • Always wear gloves whilst washing-up, gardening, and at any time that your hands come into contact with cleaning products or chemicals.

  • Filing your nails should be avoided as it will cause damage to the GelColor and cause it to chip and subsequently lift.

  • Do not bite, pick or peel the GelColor or otherwise attempt to remove the GelColor without our advice. There will be no damage to your natural nails if it is removed professionally.

  • Do not use your nails as tools, i.e. opening drinks cans, peeling stickers, etc.

  • If you wish to change the colour of your nails in between appointments, you can use a regular nail polish over the GelColor, but please use acetone-free remover to remove it.

  • Please be advised that manual/heavy work will wear the GelColor more quickly.

  • If you do accidentally damage a nail, do not pick the GelColor. Please contact us to assess the nail.Repairs are chargeable.

  • Apply OPI Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil daily. This helps to prevent your cuticles from drying out, prolonging your manicure, as well as promoting healthy nail growth.

  • Please be aware that some skincare products, such as hand cream, may contain ingredients that will cause the GelColor to lift. It is advisable to only use OPI hand creams to avoid this problem.

  • Clients that are pregnant will have changes in body chemistry which will affect adhesion.

  • Smokers commonly experience lifting on the middle and index fingers, due to the oil from the tobacco.

  • Clients on antibiotics (four to eight weeks alter beginning a prescription), lifting can occur at the centre of the nail plate.

  • Illegal drugs used on a semi-regular basis can cause lifting.

  • Stopping birth control pills can cause chipping, and thinning of nails for three to five months.

  • Ingestion of heavy doses of B vitamins, especially B6 and B12, can disrupt the keratin balance of the nail plate.

Lash Extensions Aftercare

  • We recommend you only use oil free mascara which should be applied to the tips of the lash extensions. Any eye make-up can be removed with oil free make up remover.

  • Feel free to rinse your lashes with warm water and pat them dry gently. We do not recommend the use of cotton wool.

  • We recommend you return to your lash professional every 10-14 days to check your lashes and replace any lashes that may have fallen out.

  • There are between 50-100 lashes applied to each eye. It is normal to experience the loss of a few lashes during the first 24 hours while the adhesive is setting. Care should be taken during this period.

  • Avoid getting your lashes wet within the first 24 hours after application. Avoid saunas and steam for the first two days.

  • Do not pull the eye lash extensions off. You should contact your Lash Perfect professional to have your eye lash extensions gently removed. The procedure is easy and will not affect your own lashes.

  • Lash extensions should not be permed or tinted. If you require an eye lash tint, this should be done before application.

  • Eye lash curlers should not be used. You should also not pick, pull or rub your lashes.

  • Take care when using your regular skin care products as they may contain oil.

  • Gently groom your new lashes with an eye lash brush or comb.

  • Maintenance may vary according to your lifestyle or the length of time your lashes have been on.

  • If you experience any itching or irritation, contact your lash professional immediately.

  • If you have any questions about your lashes or any problems, please contact us on 0116 251 1724.
